When it comes to making goals, what makes a dream a reality is habits.Â It’s one thing to sit down and write out small goals to accomplish the dream; however it’s another thing to follow through.Â Basketball players are always taught the concept of B.E.E.F. in their shot, with the F, being follow through, is the most important.Â If you fail to follow through on your shot, your chances of making the shot, go down significantly.Â If you fail to follow through with your goals, your chances of success decrease significantly.
Consider your life is a car, and that car is always moving whether its 5 miles per hour or 50 miles per hour.Â The habits you have during your travels will steer the car in any direction.Â If you have bad habits, you’re most likely going to drive intoÂ a ditch or go somewhere you don’t intend to go.Â If you have good habits you can go in the direction you want or make your own path for others to follow.Â Plato said “We are what we repeatedly do.Â Therefore, excellence is not an act, but a habit.”
One New Years Resolution that a majority of the population has is living a healthier lifestyle or go to the gym more often.Â In order to make that resolution a success is habits.Â It can be easy to start, but it’s not how you start, but how you finish.Â The first week of the new year, the gym is usually very full; however after that first week, how full is the gym?Â Most people fall off after the first week due to poor habits among other things.Â In order for the resolution to be a success, you need to have those good habits.Â Those good habits include setting aside time to go to the gym everyday, having a workout schedule prior to, and complimenting your workout with good nutrition.Â If you have bad habits in nutrition, such as having a lot of cheat days or cheat meals, then you might as well throw your resolution out the window.
Bottom line: Good habits are a fundamental of success.Â If you have goals and bad habits, you will not succeed in accomplishing your dreams.Â One of the best habits to have is wake up early.Â You can be working on your dreams, while others are complacent and sleep in.
