Effort is the principle that drives us toward success.  You can get what you put in.  If you put two eggs in a basket, the most you can get out of it is two.  A third or fourth is not going to magically appear.  If you go to the gym and you only put in 50% effort, don’t get upset next week when you’re not stronger or you’re not where you want to be.  It would be your own fault for not putting in the effort.  How can you complain about where you are in your life, if you never put in enough effort to change it?

Not everyone watches basketball, but regardless, you have to admire his effort.  This man is the epitome of what every successful person should strive for.  This man could make NBA history averaging a triple double for the season!  That’s an incredible achievement that hasn’t been done since Oscar Robertson did in 1962.  He’s a scoring point guard and the most surprising statistic of that triple double, is his rebound numbers.  If you watch this man, you’ll see he chases every rebound and sprints down the court on almost every single play.  That’s a hard thing to do for 30+ minutes a game, but he does it.  He gives every ounce of effort that he can, not for the numbers, but for the win.  He doesn’t care about his personal statistics, he cares about winning the game and he will do everything he can to get it.  If you feel unmotivated, watch this man give his effort every single night, and ask yourself where your effort is at.

If you’re not where you want to be right now, question your effort.  Wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Am I trying hard enough?  Am I putting in the work?”  If you don’t give 120% effort into being successful, you will not be successful.  You want more money? Work harder at work to get that promotion!  You don’t like your physique?  Go to the gym and push harder! You don’t like your health?  Live a healthier lifestyle and stick to it!  If you start it and you don’t give your every effort, then you aren’t trying hard enough!  If you’re not exhausted by the time you go to bed, then you are trying hard enough!  Go get what you want and work harder! Give the effort and put in the work!  People are giving their all every single day and they are being successful.  What’s your excuse?
