For those of you who have kids, nieces or nephews: How did you feel when your child took their first steps? How many steps did they take? When my oldest daughter started to walk, my wife and I would place her between us and help her go from one parent to the other. Usually only one or two steps, but we were so proud of her! We would praise her and continue to help her work on it. Praise yourself for the progress you have made, no matter how small and continue to grind and improve. One or two steps in the right direction is better than one step in the wrong direction or no movement at all.
Here is my step count from last week. As you can see, I improved by about 4,000 steps from the previous week and was even able to have a career day on Feb 26th, by posting the most amount of steps I have ever tracked through Fitbit. However, I also noticed that it was the only day I went above my goal of 10,000 steps. My effort was great on one day, but one day isn’t enough to succeed. Success is a journey, not a destination. If I would have reached at least 10,000 steps each day, my total for the week would be improved by 10,000 steps in the week.
Improving health is not just the hours spent at the gym, but the way we fuel our bodies.
With the help from my wife, we were able to meal prep my breakfast and lunch for the week. Not only is it healthy food, but it helps save money. For breakfast, I am having egg muffins, kale and chickpea salad with sweet potatoes. For lunch, I am having broiled salmon, green beans with almonds and mango salsa. It is absolutely delicious. We were inspired by Fit Couple Cooks on YouTube and have been following their recipes.
Progress on the blog/business is that I have finally created business cards and I am very excited about it. It makes it feel that much more real.
Last, but not least, my wife and I are consistently making progress towards moving to Japan. We were able to apply for passports for both of our children and are waiting to get them in the mail. Two completely opposite reactions to getting their picture taken.
