July’s Progress Report is Promising

After looking back at this past month, July has been promising in showing progress in our life.  I made a post last week showing my success in improving my social media presence and it is still getting better!   I have improved by an estimated 372 people!  That may not seem like that big of a deal, but that means I have the opportunity to reach that many more people, which is a big deal to me.  Also, the page views on my blog more than doubled!

I also hosted an AMA or Ask Me Anything spot and I was impressed with, not just the amount of questions, but the depth of the questions.  They were not easy to answer by any means.  It definitely made me do some soul searching, which lead to me thinking more about what I want to do with this blog.  I’ve been searching for courses to take to improve my ability to help people.  This came along when someone reached out to me via Twitter and asked if I wanted to conduct a complimentary coaching session.  I agreed to do it with an open mind and realized it is something I want to pursue.  I asked her how she went about it and found out she paid $16,000 for one year, with mostly online training, but at least one in-person training per month.  Since I am going to Japan, it’s a little difficult to do something like that.  I am still doing research to find something I can do.

This past month, I have done a considerable amount of reading, but at the same time, I know I could be reading so much more.  I’m reading about blogging because I am passionate about that and there is so much out there that I still do not know.  My goal for August, is to create better reading habits.  I’ve only read 4 books this year, which is short of my goal of 1 per month.  Now, I have to hit the ground running and continue to grind.

Another big thing that happened this month is that 85% of our stuff is packing and being shipped to Japan.  It’s a nervous and an exciting time for us and everything feels so surreal.  With these big changes in our life, we are starting to see how big our oldest daughter is becoming.  Just the other day we heard her counting and she counted from 1 to 10 without any assistance.  We decided to do some flashcards on those numbers and she can identify them by sight, out of order.  We were so impressed! But wait, there’s more. While we were packing, Blair was saying “Em” and my wife was confused and thought she was referring to an ant.  When she went up to Blair, she realized she was pointing at the letter M.  She knows most of her letters now, too.  After everything was packed up, it was the first time that Blair slept in a big girl bed, (although it was an air-mattress.)

July has been a great month, but the focus needs to be more defined in order to produce results at an even higher level.  I’m excited to share this next month’s journey and progress.  Please share your progress on your goals this past July in the comments section below.
