Be True to Yourself

There is something in all of us that can lead us to greatness, but in order to take advantage of this ‘something’, you have to be you.  You are the one that this quality was bestowed upon and you are the one who must take advantage of it.  Everyone has a skill and a talent or a personality trait that other people do not have which is what makes you so unique.  Your originality is what will set yourself apart from others.  In this day and age, it’s all about being different.  Being different is the new norm.  How can you set yourself apart from the competition?  What new business can you create that no one has thought about? What new story can you write?  What new video or app can you create and let it go viral?  In order to get what you’re looking for, you have to be true to yourself.

What do I mean be true to yourself?  I mean focus on being you, not someone else.  Sure we all have role models and we want to be just like them, but then we wouldn’t be utilizing our gift that we have.

Example

For instance, I look up to Eric Thomas and Tony Robbins and want to create similar businesses just like them.  But each one of them have their own business that is filled with their originality, their backstory.  If I were to create a business just like them, I wouldn’t have the same success because I didn’t take 12 years to get a 4 year degree and I was never in such a physically abusive relationship that it changed me to be successful.  I have my own stories to tell, to create a business, a life off of.  Why settle for someone else’s life, when mine can be even better?

Recently, I started going back through my blogs and began looking at my first 2 years worth, 2016-2017.  There weren’t too many blogs, but I could see what I was doing.  I was trying to be viral.  I would write and create content that I thought people wanted to see, instead of just being true to myself.  I would create memes for the posts as the featured picture and honestly, it didn’t really show that many views.  Once I started adding real pictures, such as my family, that’s when I noticed I had views.

Believe in Yourself

Don’t fake it until you make it, believe it and you will make it.  By being true to yourself, you can make anything happen.  Sure, it might work for a little while, trying to be someone else, or being fake, but eventually, your luck will run out.  Those things will fall through and your true self will show.  If you just start being you now and accepting yourself, then you have the ability to be great.

Success is right around the corner, but it’s made for you being you.  What can you accept about yourself in this life that will propel you toward success?

Accept Your Flaws

By being honest with yourself, that also means taking accepting your faults and flaws.  If you ignore the elephant in the room, do you make it to your dream?  If you want to be fit, but you have can’t stop eating junk food, you have to accept that and find a solution.  If you want to go to an Ivy League school, but you don’t put in the extra work and study for your tests in high school, you need to accept it.  If you’re not getting the promotion that you want because you keep coming in late or don’t give maximum effort, you need to accept it.

improve your life and take responsibility (1)

Progress starts with acceptance.  You must take responsibility for your actions and move forward with your life  Be true to yourself by knowing your short comings and your weaknesses and make them your strengths.  Become the stronger you.  Become the best version of you!

Take Action

Final thoughts: write down the things you cannot accept about yourself. Write down the things you are worried about other people knowing about you.  Take a deep breath and read them aloud. You must accept these things first, before anyone else can.  Start today, because tomorrow is never promised.
