Our every day goal is to have progress in our life and to continue striving to be the best versions of ourselves. Plain and simple. Your days don’t need to be perfect to be great, but they do have to have improvement. You must find a way to take your life to the next level. So, what are you doing to improve yourself? What’s the next step? How do you take it to the next level?
For many people, life is a balancing act. A lot of people like to stay busy, whether we admit it or not. We try and balance everything in our life: family, friends, work, self, hobbies, education, fitness, etc. We start adding more tasks and jobs for ourselves in order to be the best version of ourselves. Sometimes we add too much and we lose ourselves and our productivity.

Imagine a juggler. A juggler wants to continue being entertaining, but they have to be the best to beat out the other competition. Juggling 10 items seems hard, so the juggler goes to juggling all ten items immediately. He fails. He tries again. Fails again. Why? He hasn’t mastered juggling 4 items yet. He tried for the big prize, wanted immediate results without putting in the work. Once he masters 4 items, then he can master 5 and work his way up to 10.
You see, that’s what we’re doing with our lives. We just try and throw everything into our arms at the same time and we can’t handle it because we don’t have a skill set or a gift to fall back on. We don’t master any one skill, but rather become average in everything. So we fail to be the best version of ourselves by taking on too much at one time. We need to prioritize our life, master it and continue adding improvements and progress in our life.
Around July/August timeframe last year, I was working on doing a weekend blog post where I gave regular updates to my physical fitness, along with my 3 posts I was already trying to accomplish. The issue was not only was I not consistent with my health and fitness, but I was being overwhelmed by the amount of writing I had to do to maintain the goals of my blog. I ended up stopping the health posts and I dropped down to 2 posts per week.
Since I have dropped it to 2 posts, I’ve been doing great things with my blog and I’m seeing consistent growth. Since I’ve dropped my blog to 2 posts per week, I’ve been able to manage my social media and marketing for the blog better as well. I’ve created my own personal daily schedule to maintain and I’ve begun seeing the improvements in my social media. Once I show that I can effectively manage my time, then I can start to add more to the blog.
So, this week I had a great opportunity fall into my lap, which never happens. Because I have been working on my social media more frequently, I had someone reach out to me to be a brand ambassador for them. It was a fitness company.
This offer was intriguing to me for 2 different reasons: 1. Someone saw that the progress I was making was good enough for them and 2. One of my 2020 goals was to improve my health and fitness.
I took some time to think about it and I’ve been listening to Tea with Gary Vee the past couple of days and his ideas of improving a business via social media. Since I’m not an expert in supplements and nutrition, I called a friend and asked them for their opinion and I definitely learned some new things and made my decision to accept.
So, now I am a brand ambassador for FNX fitness. I’m excited for the journey that lies ahead. If you go to their site here, you can look at what they have and you can use the code “Melvin15” to get 15% off your purchase.
Time to level up!
Now that I have accepted the offer, I am forcing myself to level up. There is no failing because now I would bring dishonor to myself, dishonor to my brand, dishonor to my cow…(sorry, kids have been watching Mulan lately.) I’ve been making some improvements to my nutrition, but now, slow progress isn’t going to be enough. I have to be fully committed to my fitness and nutrition. It’s time to look at my vision board, look at the body type that I want to achieve, work my butt off and get there.
I’ve been making daily smoothies, but again, it’s time to step up. I was excited for getting some of my ingredients in the mail yesterday, but I’m even more excited for what lies ahead.
It’s not just about fitness for me though. This opportunity forces me to get outside of my comfort zone and work on my self-confidence. I want to be a public speaker and this will give me more opportunities to make videos on social media and eventually videos on YouTube.
How will you level up? What’s the next item that you will be juggling? Comment below and don’t forget to subscribe.
