We all have dreams of a grand successful life. We all have ideas that we become very passionate about. But what you do with all of that energy is what determines your success. Your energy and your focus are what will bring that idea to light or throw it in the trash can. So, what do you do next? What do you do after you have this brilliant idea? Create a plan, which includes goals and milestones to accomplish the dream.
With every goal that is created, there is an action plan waiting to get made. If I make a goal of being a lean 185 pounds, (which is a real goal for me), then I’m going to have multiple goals and steps to get there. I’m going to have a workout and a nutrition plan that will supplement that goal. With a nutrition plan, comes time management. Time will have to be set aside to cook and to meal prep. Every goal has follow-on goals.
If you’re in school and your focus is getting good grades, you’re going to set aside time to make sure you study for what you are learning. That means focusing on your upcoming test, working on your research project and saying goodbye to any social life you have. You have to have effective time management to take care of yourself so you don’t burnout.
So, every goal has more goals attached to it in order for it to be accomplished. In the comment section below, write 3 of your 2020 goals and some additional goals that will help you accomplish them.
What’s next for Melvin?
Currently, I am working on a plan to upgrade my site. I’ll be able to add plug-ins, create custom emails, practice SEO, etc. I am honestly very excited to be able to make these changes and take the next step forward. There is a lot of energy and passion being put into my blog, but like I said, every goal has more goals attached to it.
Right now, my focus is making a to-do list with all of my current projects I need to complete as soon as I make the upgrade. There will be a lot of sleepless nights, but that’s what’s required if you want to be successful.
This week, I’m focusing on a business plan and future weekly goals. I am passionate about making this blog, this business my life, but that energy and excitement has to be focused.
What’s holding you back?
There have been many times I have questioned myself and whether I wanted to continue working on my blog. The proof is in the consistency. This year has been significantly more consistent and the traffic is overwhelming better than I planned on.
Fear held me back. Fear that I would be spending money and not see any return or putting my family in a difficult situation financially. That’s why my goal is working on a business plan to ensure I stick to my plan and that I can move forward with less unknowns. If X happens, then I can use Y strategy. Obviously, not every scenario is covered, but it will give my wife a more peace of mind knowing that I have a plan.
Yes, sometimes it’s important to just jump with no safety net because that’s how you will learn what works and what doesn’t work. You’ll learn that you actually have wings and you can fly, but this is not one of those times, (at least not exactly). Having a plan for my blog, is what will keep me on track and not distracted by what everyone else is doing. I’ll be able to schedule posts months in advance because I’ll have a plan.
So, bear with me as I will be making many changes in the next several weeks and look out for what I will be doing next. Please, hit that follow button, hit that subscribe button to watch this blog transform and you won’t regret it.
What is my blog about? Helping you be the best version of yourself by improving productivity and changing your mindset and your lifestyle from negative to positive.
What’s holding you back? What’s your excuse?
